J-1 Programme Fees & Payment
A full breakdown of all costs involved in the J-1 Work & Travel programme, when each payment is due, and exactly what is included.
Fees & Payment Schedule
All fees are in US Dollars. Fees are subject to change without notice.
Step 1 — Registration
Paid at the time of online registration. Non-refundable. Activates your E-JAM account.
Paid after completing your initial registration. Covers your interview and programme evaluation. Non-refundable.
Step 2 — Programme Fee (US$1,750 total)
The total programme fee is US$1,750 (inclusive of credit card processing fee). You may pay in two stages or in full upfront.
Due after completing registration and signing the Work and Travel Agreement. Secures your programme place.
Due immediately after your job placement is confirmed. OR pay the full US$1,750 upfront at any time.
Step 3 — US Embassy Visa Voucher
Paid directly to the US Embassy in Kingston for the DS-160 visa application. Non-refundable. Separate from the programme fee.
* Fees are subject to change. The programme fee listed includes the US$35 SEVIS fee.
Proof of Funds Requirement — US$1,500 minimum
US Immigration requires you to show at least US$1,500 in your personal bank account at your visa interview. This money is NOT paid to E-JAM — it remains in your account and is shown as evidence you can support yourself while in the United States.

Credit / Debit Card
Pay securely online by credit or debit card through your E-JAM account at any time.
Bank Transfer (USA Account)
Transfer directly to E-JAM's US bank account. Bank details are available after logging in to your E-JAM account via the Plans page.
Local Payment (Jamaica)
Local Jamaica bank details are available through your E-JAM account Plans page for in-country payments.
